Good morning creatives,
This week, I am excited to share insights from two incredible artists, Amanda Tucker and Hannah Lane. We dove deep into a topic I know many of you think about often—how to develop a strong personal style while exploring different subjects in your work. Trust me, this is a must-listen for anyone wanting to strike that balance between creative freedom and building a cohesive body of work.
Amanda Tucker’s Perspective:
Amanda had such a refreshing take. She believes that artists shouldn’t feel confined to a single subject matter. Instead, she encourages you to follow what sparks your creativity and trust that your unique style will emerge through your process. Her advice? Focus on honing your style over time—let your subject matter flow freely. That’s where true authenticity comes from!
Hannah Lane’s Perspective:
Hannah’s thoughts really resonated with me, too. She agreed that sticking to one subject isn’t necessary but emphasized the importance of finding your own voice early on. Instead of looking to other artists for inspiration, Hannah recommends drawing from your personal experiences, like travel or nature. And if a subject keeps calling you back? Dive into it fully! You might just discover your next favorite series of work.
My Two Cents:
As an artist myself, I’ve found that blending exploration with intention is key. Yes, galleries might prefer cohesive collections (and we talk about that), but in general, I believe there’s so much beauty in exploring different subjects while allowing your style to evolve naturally. It’s not about rushing the process but being patient as your style unfolds and transforms over time.
Key Takeaways from the Episode:
Develop your unique artistic style—don’t limit yourself to one subject matter.
Galleries may prefer cohesive collections, but in your personal practice, give yourself the freedom to explore.
Find inspiration outside of the visual arts—look to nature, travel, or your own experiences.
Be patient. Your style will continue to evolve with time.

Weekly Recs
This week we are talking about shipping! Here are my favorite apps, products, and more.
Please note my weekly recs may include affiliate links, but I️ only recommend products I️ use and love.
Shippo - Watch this video to learn how to use a discounted shipping service. Created by my amazing assistant Lorin. This service will save you SO MUCH money on shipping.
Honeycomb Packing Paper Wrap - I️ just discovered this stuff and I️ LOVE. Why? It takes up minimal space, it goes farther and lasts longer than traditional craft paper, it’s better for the environment than bubble wrap.
How I️ use it - I️ like using it as a filler, so I️ still bubble wrap the piece and then use this to full the excess box space for additional protection and to prevent the art from moving around in transport.
